One of Nigeria's foremost award winning filmmakers, Femi Odugbemi will join Hollywood superstars, 
Golden Globe® nominee David Oyelowo and Tony® nominee and Academy Award® winner Lupita Nyong'o at the 20th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival (www.urbanworld.org), presented by REVOLT with founding sponsor HBO from September 21-25, 2016, at Manhattan's AMC Empire 25 on 234 West 42nd Street, New York.

The film festival will host the U.S premiere of Femi Odugbemi's Lagos romantic drama, "Gidi Blues".
> Urbanworld is one of the largest competitive film festivals in the world. It is designed to advance the presence and impact of diverse content creators and will screen over 68 films this year.

"Gidi Blues " is the exciting and thrilling story of Lagos big boy
Akin, an indulged playboy from an affluent family who accidentally meets an interesting beauty in an unpredictable place. Nkem is a beautiful, confident but unusual young lady who devotes herself to her work as a community volunteer in the belly of the city’s worst slum. Their encounter drags Akin into a whirlwind experience that unravels his world.

Starring Gideon Okeke, Hauwa Allahbura, Banky W, Lepacious Bose,
Daniel Lloyd, Tina Mba, Bukky Wright and Aduke.

David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong’o are the stars in “Queen of Katwe,” the story of a young Chess Champion from Uganda directed by Academy Award nominee, Mira Nair.
