POLICE ARREST MAN FOR NOT MOVING WITH HIS LAPTOP RECEIPT

A Young man by name Ebi Robert was yesterday August 29 was arrested by members of the Bayelsa state Police command, A Division, for not moving along with his laptop receipt.

According to Ebi Robert who made the incident public by posting on his Facebook page said, he was on his way home when the Police stopped and searched him, saw his laptop and demanded for the receipt, he told them the receipt was at home, they queried him for keeping his laptop receipt at home then took him into custody, pending when someone would help bring the receipt before they could set him free.

Ebi Robert was then kept behind the Police canter for alleged stealing.

As at the time of making this report, Ebi Robert was yet to be set free, but he has sent someone to bring to the station his laptop receipt.

This country amaze me... For rel? Arrested for not having the recept?? Besides.. At least here (us)the police can't serch u without having probable cause.. Probable cause means police must have some facts or evidence to believe you're involved in criminal activity. In other words, an officer's hunch without evidence of illegal activity is not enough to legally search your car or your person. Before searching, he must observe something real... What does the law say in Nigeria? I'mma research that.. Lol wooww I feel sorry for the guy.. That's so inconvinient and time consuming.. Not to talk about if he go miss work also...

its not new, nigerian police will ask for receipt of a bowl of garri from you if you are not lucky, its their way its all in a bid to reap you off your money.
