During Euro 2016, we have witnessed a football match in which two brothers were playing against each other. On 11th of June, Switzerland played Albania – and brothers Taulant and Granit Xhaka featured in that game, with each one representing a different country.

This was a good example that once again football knows no barriers. Let’s look at some other footballing brothers who have represented different national teams.

8. Luis and Paolo Suarez (El Salvador and Uruguay)

France national team goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has a young brother Parfait Boateng who plays for D.R Congo – their country of origin.

Steve, who was born in D.R Congo, chose to represent France, and Parfait who was born in France opted for D.R Congo!
