The Growth and Employment Project, an initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, World Bank, and DFID has partnered with the National Information Technology Agency, IBM, and other stakeholders to bring you the ICT Capacity Development Program. We are looking to give Nigerians who have recently graduated (within the last 4 years with an HND or higher) from ICT related courses the opportunity to be immersed in Nigeria’s IT sector, and through our collaborative training program, to develop the skill-sets necessary to succeed there.

The main objective of the training program is to equip young Nigerians who have studied ICT related courses with the skills they need to monetize their knowledge. At the end of this training the participants will have clear marketable skills that they can use in either the employment market but more importantly as entrepreneurs. The training they will receive will show them how to utilize their prior learning with the skills we will teach them in the areas of social media, project management and critical thinking and problem solving. At the end of the course participants will understand how they can use their skills to support other businesses in their local community and how they can market these skills, promote themselves and add value.

The training program will equip the participants to do the following:

• Create social media campaigns
• Understand personal branding
• Understand how their skills can add value and how to monetize this value
• Understand how to use a number of IBM tools
• Have access to the opportunity to do on-the-job training and work experience
