The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has decried the reduction by the Federal Government, of allocation to the education sector, from 11 per cent in 2015, to eight per cent in 2016.

ASUU Sokoto Zonal Coordinator, Dr. Lawal Argungu, who made the union’s stand known at a press conference in Sokoto, yesterday, said: “The way the Federal Government treats the funding of education in this country, makes it difficult for ASUU to believe its sincerity regarding the reformation of the education sector in Nigeria.
