If they don't come up with a solution to buildings collapsing all over the country, then this meetings, and so many other associations and bodies needs to stop.

We haven't seen vakue-addition to the country.

The roads are bad, building construction standards are gone, the tools of trades aren't being upgraded with new technologies, panel beaters still using same trade craft...

I wonder why we have these associations... They just treating us like the NASS... Plenty d people fighting for posts and not improving the country or our economy...

Building collapse is rearly the fault of Engineers. when people run away from qualified Engineers and architects by giving quacks jobs, what do you expect.

In some cases, politicians would rather award contracts to their girlfriends and relations than to qualified engineers.

They civil engineer don't need to work with Geoscientist.. Instead it's a Geotechnic engineer he needs.

The weakest professional body


Nigerian engineers are fantastic but the body allow non qualified people to answer the name and take up projects

As for the people blaming engineers for building collapse... It's not nse problem when u give ur house to a non engineer to handle..

Every engineer has a seal.. .. If he has no seal he is not an engineer.. End of story

They should just scrap engineering courses or should rename these useless society to "All Nigerian society of quack Engineers" Huge government projects are handled by foreigners while the certificate idiots you see here have nothing to offer than to follow instructions from the foreign experts.

Has any1 noticed dat big projects are usually designed abroad and the companies dat designed them just hand over the drawings to technicians(welders, fitters, elctricians, foremen
...etc) who come to Nigeria to execute...I have come to the conclusion that NIGERIA DOES NOT NEED ENGINEERS, ENGINEERS DESIGN and there is no framework for that in Nigeria.Instead we focus on perfecting our technical arts

It's indeed sad that these men just seat back and relax without doing anything as regard how to fight for the right of Engineers in this country!...Their impact is not felt anywhere like the medicals who are still fighting ferociously with Nigeria Authority to make sure that their members are treated better with good working condition!!....These people are just too silent for our liking!!!

With all the jobs engineers are doing all over land, sea and even in space. Geoscientists are a very long way behind in the scheme of things.

You are very correct. Its just sad. Take Kaduna state for example, someone who read Geology in the university is placed on level 09 while a degree holder in engineering will be placed on level 08. This is because the Geological society fought on behalf of the geologists. Engineers by any standard are soposed to begin their careers with government at level 10.

Its just sad really.

When our engineers are only so on paper. Give then contracts now they use fake and substandard materials to cut cost and make huge profit. See the road contract from Berger thro Isasi to Akute that given and executed by an Engr, it didnt last one year and the road scattered.
They mostly use their influence to collect govt contract and make only pass the blame to other people. Yeye dey smell...
