Nigeria, the pride of Africa is obviously in recession and this recession is not only economic but basically in all ramifications-moral, spiritual, psychological and natural.
This decline started a long time ago when we began to see corruption as a normal thing and this led to seeing a lot of things as normal which include moral decline. For example, back in the early 2000, some outfit, ethics and lifestyle were abhorred and almost unusual, but today, they are generally normal. A guy who used to live on nothing can arrive now with a jeep, throwing nairas (or other powerful currencies) without questions and he will be hugely celebrated. A lady in higher institution whose parents can barely meet her up keeping will be all-roundly sophisticated and most parents will not care to ask, tell me what will happen if in the near future, they are entrusted with public office. The system just keep repeating itself.

My Nigerian youth, we need to wake up from our slumber and clumsiness. We need to stop being reckless, greedy, selfish, over ambitious, self-centered, manipulated, driven around by people. Changing our morals suddenly won't be easy but it is possible. This is the right to reflect on the past, do the best now and write a better future. A day will come when we will be entrusted with certain vital positions, what if we can't deliver? What if Prof Osinbanjo was right when he said "Nigerian youths are not yet ready?

If we can get things right and going, not only are we going to be fulfilled, other people will be too. There are lot of opportunities waiting for our beck and call; let's open our eyes and see them clearly, they are in the agric sector, fashion, entertainment, politics, mini importation, consultancy and other SMEs. Instead of wasting our time and talents, let's reconstruct our attitudes and moral consciousness and use them for nation's development.
The society is obviously decayed, but adding ours won't succour. Don't mind the statement that " All Nigerians are corrupt " and "We can't beat corruption" ; we can justify ourselves by distinguishing away from corruption and moral decay and it starts with ME and YOU.
