Which came first?

I am of the opinion that Religion emanated from Man's quest to understand the world around him.

You may argue that God created man hence Religion came before Man but on the contrary there would be no religion had Man decided to go on in his happy-go-lucky mode.

Hence which came before the other?
Reasonable opinions please.

I believe the best form of conversation is argumentative because that way we can provoke each others salient opinions and learn from each other respectfully.

Man made religion.
And it is this religion that has caused diversity amongs humans.
such as christianity, islam and many other.
But the truth is that, christianity is not a religion,
its a way of life of those who are in christ.
Man called various beliefs religion but GOD did not create religion, what he gave us, is a way of Life.

What is religion in the literal?

"A particular system of faith and worship".
"Any practice that someone or some group is seriously devoted to"

If actually God created religion, all souls created by God will worship God in the same way.
The fact that we have diverse ways of worshipping God is an evidence of human creating religion base on the modification of existing belief in God.

So Christianity is not a religion but a culture?
I believe every religion would profess the same since it's practice becomes ones way of life.

Hence, Christianity like others is not a culture but a Religion.

I concur but unfortunately majority don't share this view.
If Religion was preordained we won't have such diversity. In fact religion would most likely be homogeneous, as we'll all share the same views which cannot be opposed.

A man have 10 children, 4 out of the children always disobey their father and mother. Are you now telling us that the man and his wife are not the true parents of these children.

I know that Atheists don't agree on opinion of others on theirs.

By the time the government decides to tax your 'organisation of way of life' now, you'll be the first to come here and tell us that 'religious' bodies aren't meant to be taxed.

Your illustration is illogical here, cos what it centers on is paternity and where you are driving at is the existence of God. If you are logical enough, what your illustration should have centered on is the variation/difference in the characters of the children, after being given similar training by the parents.

The parents gave the 10 children the same training and all of them eventually act in different ways. The parents are still their parents but the children have succeeded in bringing about their own characters which is different from what the parents lay down

Same as the question asked by the OP. God created all humans to serve him, but all humans got different ways (religion) to serve him.

Errr says who? Why did Ahimolowo and Bishop Oyedepo evade England arrest? Of course they are taxable at the level they are playing.
