The Flying Antelopes survived Oga Boys scare to win the Nigeria top-flight title for the first time in 32 yearsEnugu Rangers have won the Nigeria Professional Football League title to cap a fairytale season, with Rivers United’s failure to beat Abia Warriors meaning the Flying Antelopes can no longer be caught.Imama Amapakabo’s men could have waited for the last game of the season against El Kanemi Warriors on October 2, but Rivers United were held to a 0-0 draw by relegation-threatened Abia Warriors, while Wikki Tourists lost 1-0 against Shooting Stars. The Flying Antelopes lead closest challengers, River United by three points but with superior goals difference, and it will be an impossible mission for Stanley Eguma’s men to record a 5-0 away at Akwa United on the last day– having in mind that they have struggled away from home this season. Thus, the Flying Antelopes are now champions after Sunday’s 2-1 victory against Ikorodu United at the MKOAbiola Stadium. After a gloomy outing last season that saw them narrowly avoiding the drop, Enugu Rangers began the 2015/2016 campaign on a blistering form as they warning signal to opposing teams.Enyimba, Ifeanyi Ubah FC and Kano Pillars – considered the most likely title considered – all suffered inconsistent form to leave Rangers, Wikki Tourist and Rivers United to compete for the title

Who is even following the league? They should find a way to unite the season with those elsewhere. It's confusing.

The antelopes are flying again
PMB was the Head of State the last time Enugu Rangers won the Nigerian league, next week they will win the league with PMB in power.

In football, anything is possible. It is not over untill it is over.Declaring Enugu Rangers, champions while Rivers united still have the chance to be champions is misleading.

It will be nice if the club can be sold to the fan in order to increase transparency, more revenue and more fan dedication. If Enugu state government can sell their stake to 100000 thousand die hard rangers at 100000.the club will be able to be run as business not as charity.
