I don't know where to post this so I decided to post it here...No offense please. ..

I saw an elderly man around 3:20pm today..so I decided to greet him Good Afternoon sir the man checked his wrist watch then replied Good Evening my son...I was confused because the sun is seriously shining. ..Now my question is this:
1. When is the actual time to say Good evening...For me is from 4:00pm

2. Does weather affect greetings..like weather getting dark around 3pm then we swap immediately to Good evening or sun shining around 5pm we still remain at Good Afternoon level...

3. What are the right greetings from 8pm

please am sorry if my English is not upto your Standard for those that will leave the main topic then face my grammar. ..I need cool answers please. .thanks

The right time to greet Good evening is 4pm ... But as far as am concerned... My good evening starts 4:30pm .. @times weather can affect it..

From 4:00 to 11:59 pm.

Gud evening starts 4rm 4pm,weather has notin 2 do with de time

Good evening officially starts from 4:30pm to 8:30pm, then following hrs is good night till 11:59pm.

Well, good evening starts from 3pm-6:59pm. From 7pm to 11:59pm is good night, from 12:00am to 11:59am is good morning while from 12pm to 2:59pm is good afternoon.
In summary: from 12am-6:59pm is good day while from 7pm to 1159pm is good night.

Good evening is from 4pm to 11:59pm

Everyone else has answered it. Don't forget, good night is anywhere from 21:00 when someone else is about to sleep or if a visitor is leaving.
