No, but heating cost is high. That massive slabs are generally cold. There are very lovely (according to me) alternatives in my quarries. For your idea, l did attached stairs at VGC in Lagos including stainless balustars and curved glasses

l did some projects in Nigeria Abuja and Lagos; interiors are same as inside degree; outdoors are as clima. According to me natural stones are ideal material for the countries as Nigeria; its life time hundred years, ceramics are some ten years. Pictures are some projects from Nigeria
