Shazam has announced the launch of Shazam Lite on Android. With a highly optimized size of less than 1MB and utilizing as little data as possible, Shazam Lite has a small footprint while still providing a simple, high-quality music discovery experience.

Despite the small footprint of the Shazam Lite app compared to the original version (which could take up to 30MB space), it offers the core feature which is to ID songs for downloading or listening later. ‎Users can also Shazam music offline and save the most recent search result.

The app is available for free on the Google Play Store. Users in India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Philippines and Vietnam will get the English version while those in Venezuela the Spanish version.
