Facebook has released its new Virtual Reality software on Thursday which places users into a virtual world as an avatar and allows them to interact with each other. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, showed the new software at the Oculus Connect conference in San Francisco,California.
The new software allows people to customize their avatars, share videos and take webcam calls from non-VR participants.
Facebook is working to develop third party VR software as well as its own projects, Zuckerberg said at the conference.

The new software allows people to join the same virtual space, and do everything from watch a video to be transported to the surface of Mars.
Zuckerberg was able to transport participants to live video feeds of his office and home, and even call his wife - all in a virtual world(photo)
