At least 13 people were killed in the violence that rocked some villages in Kabalo territory in the province of Tanganyika since Sunday 16 October. Again, they pitted Bantu and Pygmy vigilante groups.

Since 2013, violence is recurrent between Pygmies and Lubas in the north of the former province of Katanga. The fighting that rocked since last August neighbor Nyunzu causing the displacement of thousands of people are still in everyone’s mind.

This weekend, the Pygmies and Lubas clashed with arrows and stick in Kabalo territory. Ulcerated by the racket imposed by a neighboring village, Pygmies who were collecting caterpillars for consumption and were imposed taxes, killed two people, causing three days of violence, reprisals cycle.

Five members of the same family including pygmy killed by those we now call “the elements”, a vigilante group that casts a wide net to young Lubas sector.
