According to The Nation, Grace Aghomi Onome, a 37-year-old commercial sex worker in Badagry area of Lagos state has sold her only daughter to a man for N60,000 due present hardship in the country . The woman who made the transaction for the sole purpose of having the girl, identified as Feranmi Ahmed work as a slave for the buyer, was arrested and arraigned before an Ebute Metta magistrate’s court. Ighodalu Daniel, the prosecutor in charge of the case, revealed to the court that Mrs Onome committed the said offence (which contravened section 274 and 142 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state) on September 30 at about 11pm in Badagry.
