Question: Do dead people hear what is going on ?


Answer: Dead people only hear what is being uttered or discussed in their presence, when they are buried they do not know what is going on in their houses. Hence they don't know Ghaib



Ibn umar narrated,'The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) looked at the people of the well (the well in which the bodies of the pagan/atheist killed in the battle of badr were thrown) and said to them,'Have you found the truth, what your Lord has promised you ?'. Somebody said to him (the Holy Prophet),'you are addressing dead people'.

He replied,'You do not hear better than them is just that they cannot reply'

I dont undastand! How can a dead body be aware of its enviroment while dead?
Pls explain better! Is d soul trapped in the body? Or what?

A dead body is aware of everything that goes in his environment, this is among the wonders of God, In an authentic hadith when a believer or unbeliever is conveyed to the burial site, he/she complains naively and earnestly, no man or jinn will hear him except animals and Angels. And when he is buried his soul is returned to him for questioning and answer by Angel munkar and Nakir.
