A period as this in Nigeria requires prudent personal financial management. I have listed some helpful tips to improve your personal finance.

Always do and have a budget or financial projection. Like you do have a daily to-do list, extend that habit to your personal expenditure. Have a financial plan.

As a follow up to No.1, don't buy on impulse. Learn to delay gratification. If not owning that product or enjoying that service all this time did not kill you, delaying it now won't also kill. Learn delayed gratification.

If you must give out a loan, don't give out money that you cannot let go. Do not be pressured or emotionally blackmailed to part with money that is needed in your plan.

Do not be embarrassed to turn down an invitation to partake in a group activity that will cost you money that you don't have. Better miss the fun than be in debt.

As much as you can never keep cash at home. The stress of withdrawing from an ATM may be a deterrent on your unnecessary expenditure.

If you must sell any product on credit, ensure that the buyer pays the principal cost of the product. If you must be owed let it be on the profit accruable to you.

As much as you can, stop eating out. Cook your meal. It's cheaper, healthier and better. You will be amazed how much profit is made off you.

Never borrow money to expend on luxury or fun. For example, borrowing money to hang out or visit the cinema or catch fun is a wasted investment, most times. READ MORE: http://www.naijamagazineonline.com/2016/10/personal-finance-management-tips-by.html
