– A Catholic Bishop, Most Reverend Felix Ajakaye has called on the Nigerian to desist from media prosecution of alleged corrupt individuals
– Ajakaye said such media prosecution would stall development in Nigeria
– He also said that indiscipline which has led to corruption is Nigeria’s


The Catholic Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Most Reverend Felix Ajakaye has urged the federal government of Nigeria to desist from prosecuting Nigerians in the media, Daily post reports. Ajakaye said media prosecution would not lead to any form of development in Nigeria. Speaking at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Ado-Ekiti at the public presentation and launch of his book titled: “Beyond Ideas”, Ajakaye said the major problem facing the nation is indiscipline. He also said, indiscipline gave birth to corruption in Nigeria. READ ALSO: Bishop Oyedepo dismisses planned sale of nation assets, advises FG on what to do Ajakaye also urged the Nigerian government to revisit the 2014 Confab report to ensure sustainable growth within the country. “We need to re-visit it; the report would make our country, Nigeria a better place,” Ajakaye said. Explaining the need for his new book, the cleric said positive and concrete actions must be drawn for a better Nigeria.

“Nigeria must not fail; if Nigeria fails, we have fallen and failed as a people,” he said.
Speaking during the occasion, the minister of mines and steel Kayode Fayemi said Ajakeye’s book was laden with creativity, knowledge and reflection. Also, the Archbishop of Ibadan and the metropolitan of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province, Most Reverend Gabriel Abegunrin called on all Nigerians to be positive in all their endeavours. Meanwhile, the founder of Covenant University and Living Faith Church David Oyedepo has also warned the federal government against sale of Nigeria’s assets. Oyedepo speaking at the 14th anniversary of the Covenant University called on the government to work on selling Nigeria’s intellectual resources to the global market rather than its national assets.
