Perfumes are combinations of chemical compounds of fragrance oils, aroma blends, and solvents, which produce a pleasant and attractive smell. We all use perfumes in order to smell nice and cool.
Perfumes are composed of perfume oils, which could either be natural, animal, or synthetic, that is then diluted with a solvent to make them applicable. Some perfume oils when not diluted could cause allergic reactions, and that’s why they are always diluted to lessen their potency. Each perfume will react differently depending on your skin chemistry.

Plants are the oldest source for obtaining perfume oil compounds, and the parts that are mostly used are the plant’s flower and blossoms. Other parts like the leaves, roots, rhizomes, fruits, and bark, parts, could also be used in perfume production.

As for perfumes which have been made using animal sources, they are normally made from Musk, and it could obtained from either the Asian Musk Deer or Civets (known as Civet Musk), as well as Ambergris (a fatty compound).

As for the synthetic source perfumes, these are produced through organic synthesis of multiple chemical compounds, and such things as Calone, Linalool, Coumarin and Terpenes are used to make synthetic fragrant oils. By using synthetic products in perfume making, you can produce smells which are both unnatural, and which may not even exist in nature, have become very valuable element in the making of perfumes nowadays.

A perfume composition could be used to augment other products, or patented and sold as a perfume after it has been allowed to age for one year.

But fragrance compounds would lose its strength if not properly stored. It is important to note that when making your own perfume, that you should store it in an air tight container, and keep them out of light and away from heat, as well as away from oxygen and other organic substances. If actually you want to get the best results possible the containers should be stored at a temperature of between 3 and 7 degrees Celsius.
