It's actually called Petroleum Production Engineering.

HOW I never did anything related to petroleum engineering as an undergraduate how can they now set petroleum production engrg for me. Production Engineering is totally different from Petroleum. Both have nothing in common. It's only mechanical engrg that's very similar to Production Engrg, I hope PTDF won't fall my hand with Petroleum engrg questions. I just pray Oh God

There is production engineering in Mech engineering as well, in this case it is pet production engineering, could be surface or subsurface . It's fully pet engineering and not related to Mech engineering. The closest to Mech engineering in pet engineering is drilling. You should have asked some of this things before applying

I guess, he didn't mean the way you seem. He never knew PTDF is all about oil and gas. Even if I haven't read the advert and I hear production in PTDF webpage, of course, I will first think petroleum production before anything.
