During the month of October social media pages such as Facebook and Instagram never seize to be occupied by drawings from artist around the world as a result of a trend called Inktober.

Inktober is a trend started by American illustrator Jake Parker and has been followed suit by artists all over the world. The period of this trend runs from the 1st to the 31st of October. What started as a small idea is now a global thing and African artists are getting on the action.

However, there is a similar trend that also takes place in the month of October and it is called ‘Swaptober’, the trend is all about the artist switching the gender of the original character of an anime to another, for instance drawing a female version of Wolverine from X-Men.
