I came across this poetry by Tola Adeniyi from his book SOUL FIRE AND OTHER POEMS

THE JESUS OF ‘66

He died for you
You,
He died for
Me,
For a country on the brink of collapse
Unmourned, unsung
Neglected and unappreciated

He died with his task, mutilated
Uncompleted
Unaccomplished

He died ,
Died, trapped in turmoil
Of secession
And dead
With all hopes shattered
When comes another Nze?

*CHUKWUMA Kaduna Nzeogwu was the courageous Nigerian who first tried to use the gun clean the mess into which Nigerian politicians had plunged the country. That was January 15, 1966.
