Nissan Primera Sudden Battery Cutoff by GambaOsaka: 8:55pm On Nov 10, 2016
Hi Tech gurus,

My car has been performing well since morning but just as I tried cranking it up this evening on my way home, it refused to crank up. After some minutes of unsuccessful attempts I jump started the car and it started. But as I was approaching home suddenly it started misbehaving again;

1. The headlamp light was getting dim.
2. The horn stopped working.
3. The power windows stopped working.
4. The ABS light (which has never been up) came up.

I managed to stir the car home and surprisingly the battery went dead as soon as I turned off d ignition.

Please, my ogas in the house. Whats is your diagnosis ? Im thinking alternator (based on the first three symptoms) but your professional touch is needed before Mudashiru - road side will come and say another thing. Help your boy please.

classic charge fault.

Check alternator (check charging voltage. Check serpentine belt (fan belt) check crank shaft pulley (ensure its not slipping at the center.

the Harmonic balancer, or what we are used to calling the crank shaft pulley, consists of 2 layers of metal, separated by a rubber strip.
