martha89: What is your proof of rebuttal against the research made by the researcher? History is not something you can pick and choose. |

martha89: Ekpon speaks Ika. Doesn't that count as influence? |

bigfrancis21:so its only Igbo's who are fair in completion, its only Igbo's who are business minded? My problem with the major tribes they are so quick to say they have influence on minorities but if it was the other way around they will reject it immediately. 8 Likes |

martha89: What about Ebu? They are people of Igala descent. So? Has anyone denied Igala influence in Anioma/West-Igbo? No one will even deny Esan and Bini influence in Anioma. If you had bothered to read the write-up you would have seen where the writer mentioned an important Asaba chief in the 19th century whose father was from Esan. Mixing Esan with Ika in Ekpon doesn't mean Ika influence is no longer there, does it? It is like saying speaking pidgin doesn't mean English influence because I threw in a few local words too. 6 Likes |

martha89:Esan has lots of influence in Anioma same way Anioma has some influence in Esan as well. The writer mentioned some Esan communities that speak Ika and some others that have Ika origin these are enough proof of Ika influence in Esan land. 3 Likes |
