Chelsea in the Premier League when Marcos Alonso starts: 6 games 6 wins 0 goals conceded Massively important.

yeah, you are not wrong... but you ought to know that the system covers his flaws.

If he was playing in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation as a fullback, he would have been regularly exposed.

The new system is the type where cahill and Matic are always quick to help him with his defensive duties.

Alonso is neither above average in defence nor attack. He's just benefiting from the 3-4-3 formation.

I didn't say Conte should bench him. After all we don't have a better left wing-back now. I'm just saying that he is the weakest of the new first 11. And the likes of kennedy and Felipe Luiz would have extremely excelled in that role.. and if they were here when conte came, Alonso for dey warm bench.

I like Kennedy more than you think but yeah football is teamwork and how will someone excel at something when they've not even tried it? Everyone called for Cesc to be in the team and we all know how it turned out.
