Super Eagles Continue Rise In FIFA Rankings, Now In World Top 50 And Africa’s Best 10 The steady rise of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the FIFA ranking continued with the latest rankings released for the month of October by the world soccer governing body. Since the appointment of Gernot Rohr as coach Nigeria have been enjoying a steady climb up the table, thanks to his perfect starts as manager with three victories from his first three games as coach. Nigeria picked up two high profile win in the period under review beating Zambia away from home 2-1 and Africa’s highest ranked nation Algeria 3-1 in Uyo. Comfortably on top of their group standings for the World Cup 2018 qualifiers, the victory over Algeria helped them gained more points due to the place of the Foxes in the rankings prior to the game in Uyo.
