In Mexico, Guadarrama et al. (2001) evaluated the efficiency of human urine as a fertilizer against compost and no fertilizer treatments on greenhouse grown lettuce. The experiment concluded a higher Lettuce yield at higher Urine Concentrations.

Human Urine is believed to contain considerable amount of Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium, as well as trace elements like Magnesium, Calcium and Sulphur. The reason why many countries have adopted the medium to substitue inorganic fertilizers............
