Hopes were beyond containment as in their hands, lie the desire of every Nigerian tertiary institution graduate, the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) call up letter.

For some, it was a dream come true.
Others bemoaned their fate, a dashed hope even the soldiers despise: the core northern states, Sokoto, Yobe,Borno, Kebbi, Zamfara etc.

Who will blame them, with Boko Haram internecine activities, Fulani herdsmen maniacal onslaughts on defenseless citizens, Shi'ites uprisings, religious skirmishes, harsh weather conditions and for a southern graduate, the thought of embracing "off civilisation" lifestyle is sickening!

One would expect mitigated actions from well wishers to douse whatever tension these graduates may wear as cloaks.
But this is a no no for Cross Country Transport Company, Jibowu, opposite Presbyterian church, Yaba.

Corp members posted to Kano state were asked to book their tickets online or pay at their office.
With payments made, the ethicallt right thing to do is to render expected service without hiccups.

But characteristic of Cross Country, they collected money from these corp members and as at press time, a bus that should have departed Lagos for Kano before 7a.m is missing in action, the driver is not seen, monies are not returned, no explanation given, just the maddening Nigerian attitude of " So, who cares?" is displayed by their noxiously nauseating, half baked staff!

One, the corp members will not make the resumption day, Thursday at their orientation camp in Kano.

Two, they will have to pay more to get another bus with attendant risks.

Three, some of these students were brought to Jibowu by guardians and parents who gave them exact amount for the trip, 10,000 naira with less than 5k to buy things on the way.
Meaning, without a full refund, they are done for!

Four, no sensible reason has been given by this fraudulent transport company for the disappearance of the bus and the driver.

Five, the place of boarding is not the same location as the office where payments are made.
And incredibly, this same trip that is not catered for: no driver no bus, is being ticketed as I write to you!

They are still collecting money for a doomed trip at an office away from the boarding location with students and parents paying, ignorant of what lies ahead!

This company is shamelessly, negatively affecting innocent students, exposing them to the risks of a night trip!

You would want to ask " Why not take a flight to Kano?"

With this economic situation, how many parents can afford 55k to Kano. Or to break the trip, 41k a flight to Abuja by 3pm today?
Only few that cough this out without having volcano of the pocket.

This fraudulently anointed transport companies and airlines must be tamed before they ruinously chart an ignoble path for their helpless teeming customers.
