In a statement press released by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige,he stated that the only barrier preventing the Federal Government from settling the issue with ASUU is the demanded payment of N248 for earned allowance as it is the only unfulfilled proposal out the 8 demands of ASUU.
In his statement, the Federal Government cannot provide such an amount of money in view that the economy of the nation is currently in recession.
He further stated that the government will be paying a certain amount to ASUU every month until when the first money earlier given to ASUU for that purpose will be audited.
Moreover, ASUU rose up with a countering proposal which retreated the two parties for further consultations after which they shall resit for more solutions.
