Ultimate Circle elects Oladejo as president By EDITOR | 28 January 2015 | 11:00 pm THE Ultimate Circle Club of Nigeria has elected new officers to run the affairs of the club for the next two years. At the club’s yearly general meeting recently held in Abeokuta, the Ogun state, Seye Oladejo, who is currently the Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) of Lagos, was elected as the new president of the club and he immediately took over the mantle of leadership from Adelaja Adeleye. Other officers elected into various offices include Dele Olorunda as vice president, Segun Owokade as secretary, Hakeem Amaao as treasurer and Otunba Bola Osipitan as chief whip. Others are Sunkanmi Ologundudu as social secretary and Adegboyega Ogunosun as director of publicity. In his acceptance speech on behalf of the new executive, the new president, Oladejo, assured the club of unprecedented growth in all areas of the club’s activities, while revealing that greater priority would be given to more charity works and membership welfare. He noted that poverty in the society had reached an alarming rate and “as a club we need to do more not only within but greatly out of the club to be our brothers keepers”. Oladejo also lamented the unemployment situation in the country particularly amongst the youths and advocated that the club in the coming months would come up with a template to empower the youths of their immediate environment through provision of skills and knowledge needed to be self-employed. He added that social clubs like the Ultimate Circle should do all in their power to help the government and the society grapple with the problem of youth unemployment by using “our array of skills, knowledge, exposure and networking to create a platform where skills training and acquisition could be readily made available to the youths at the club’s expense”.
