5 Times Mourinho has been sent to the stands or Fined

José Mourinho needs no introduction, the Portuguese football coach who now coaches Manchester United. He is according to numerous footballers, pundits and coaches one of the greatest coaches in modern football.

At Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto, Jose has won 21 trophies, winning his last at Wembley.

His coaching career cannot be distanced from controversies however, and in this report, we bring you five times Jose has been sent to the stances, fined or banned.

No 1. Mourinho (as a chelsea manager) was fined £50,000 for claiming that referees were afraid to award penalties against his side last season after the Blues fell to a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Southampton FC back on 3rd of October 2015.

The then Chelsea boss after a failed appeal was fined £50,000 as fine and also got a suspended one-game stadium ban dismissed by the Football Association.

No 2. José Mourinho was given a one-match stadium ban plus fined £40,000 in November 2015, after the FA supported referee Jon Moss' claims that the then Chelsea manager refused to leave the referees' changing room and in addition to verbally abusing him (the referee) and his assistance at half-time of a 2-1 defeat at West Ham.

Mr Mourinho asked me about a tackle, an offside and a goal line clearance. I gave him brief answers to his questions. He (Mourinho) was 'aggressive, animated and agitated’ in an extraordinary foul-mouthed rant at referee Jon Moss, this was enough to earn him a one-match stadium ban which he observed at the Britannia Stadium.

He was accused of referring to Mr Moss as being ‘f***ing weak’ and of twice refusing to leave the referees’ room. The report claimed he showed ‘a total lack of respect’ at half-time.

No 3. Jose Mourinho, the now Manchester United boss was charged over his pre-Liverpool referee comments. The Manchester United boss was charged by the Football Association for claiming it would be "difficult" for referee Anthony Taylor to officiate their (United) game with Liverpool.

Mourinho added that appointing Taylor for the 17th October clash had put "pressure" on the Manchester-based official; it is F.A rule that managers are not supposed to speak about referees prior to matches and he was given until 31 October (then) to respond to a charge of improper conduct and bringing the game into disrepute.

The game ended in a 0-0 draw. Jose was fined £50,000 by an independent commission.

No 4. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands at half-time in the game with Burnley in the Premier League on 29th October 2016, The 53-year-old Portuguese then moved to the directors' box.

Jose emerged for the second half and was escorted to a seat in the stands at Old Trafford as his side dropped to further down the table afther the game ended in a 0-0 draw. United had 37 shots on goal, but found Heaton in impenetrable form as he made 11 saves. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the chief profligate for United, missing at least three gilt-edged chances from 12 shots at goal, meaning he has now gone six league games without scoring for the first time since December 2007 with Inter Milan.

Referee Mark Clattenburg had dismissed a United penalty appeal late in the first half. "I think the events of recent weeks have got to him," said MOTD pundit Danny Murphy. "I think that it was a penalty, though."
He was banned from the touchline for one match and fined £8,000 then warned as to his future conduct by the F.A following the Burnley incident.

No 5. Yesterday (30th November) Jose Mourinho served a one game ban against West Ham in the EFL cup quarter final after being sent to the stands during Manchester United's 1-1 draw with same club (West Ham) in the Premier League on Sunday 27th Nov.

Mourinho had received his marching orders for the second time in just three home league games after kicking out at a water bottle on the touchline after Paul Pogba was booked for diving shortly before the half-hour mark at Old Trafford and later declined speaking to the media at the post-match conference.
