Class prefects were the worst. That is if you were not lucky enough to be one way back in primary school.

They were the bosses when the real teacher bosses weren’t around. And they made sure you know it and respect it.

On the giving end, it was kinda cool. On the receiving end, nobody liked their irritatingly commanding class prefects.
Here are the things we hated about our class prefects way back in primary school:

1. The ultimate snitching bastards

Class prefects will tell on you without a blink of an eye. They will throw you under the bus without even looking. Like they are just serial snitches. The teachers loved that. We, who mattered hated that to the very core.

2. Writing names of talkative

Teachers gave them the authority to make sure the class is quiet when they weren’t around. These class prefect took the writing of names like their lives depended on it.

Sometimes even breathing in class when there was no teacher was a problem.

3. Giving ‘DP’ to the ‘cool guys’ and ‘loud’ ladies in the class

And the ‘DP’ for talking again while your name has already been written. Oh just being way too cool than the class prefects are. Lord of mercy.

As quiet as you may, you’re still getting your name on that list. They just can’t stand you.

4. Checking your test and exam scores before giving your script out

Like I know I’m going get zero in that test and the whole class will eventually here about it. But please, have the decency to let me see it first before you. Just because you’re the class prefect does not mean you had the zero. It’s mine to own.

5. Teacher’s pet

Like in literal terms. People who have had class prefects can relate.

6. Getting a pass on every bad thing

Teachers and school officials pretend they’ve not seen when a class prefect is involved in a wrong. We all did see and pretended we didn’t know what you were doing. Or simply, we didn’t have a choice.

7. Their threats

The moment things don’t go a class prefect’s way, they release the bombshell of how they could make your life miserable because they were the boss.

8. All the girls liked them [for boy class prefect]

Not like like like real like. They just needed the class prefect not to write their names when they talk, snitch on them and what not. So they had to pretend.

These ladies have been faking ‘likes’ since primary school.

9. Why always them?

They were everywhere. Speech days, school events, class illustrations, examples, scenarios, sports team even though they weren’t sporty. Like teachers used them for everything.
