When my father's house is desolate
And my mother's garden a waste land
when Hunger and starvation
Has made our bodies festered with flies

When all I see,
Is a future so bleak
And a people so weak
What hope is there to hold

Where did we go wrong?
How did we get here?
Was this God's vision of creation?
We pride ourselves in creating weapons
To destroy without recourse
Yet we pretend we care
In the midst of this confusion,
Still I rise

Many times my faith has been tested
Give up the little voice whispers
what hope is there to hope
Even God is fed up with mankind
But each day my resolve grows
That we are just a step away from a better tomorrow
We would rise again like the phoenix
Shouting to the heavens,no matter the trials,
Still we rise.
