Maintenance center Log in to the live-network device and collect the hardware information. Collect the hardware information.

Replacing GPON board 0/3 in the ETSI service subrack is used as an example in this document.
Live-network site Replace the board on site. For details about how to replace the GPON board on site, see the Replacing the GPON Service Board video.
Hold down Ctrl and click the following figure to view the Replacing the GPON Service Board video.
Verify whether the board is replaced successfully by checking the hardware. Check whether the RUN/ALM indicator blinks green at an interval of 1s.
If the RUN/ALM indicator blinks green at an interval of 1s, the board is replaced successfully.
Maintenance center Verify whether the board is replaced successfully by checking the software. Check whether the board running status is normal.

Common Troubleshooting
Fault symptom: When an upstream board is used to transmit upstream services, upstream services become unavailable after the control board is replaced.
Cause: The upstream board is not compatible with the new control board.
Solution: Replace the upstream board with a new one that is compatible with the new control board and provides functions of the old upstream board.

The configuration file of the upstream board may need to be updated after the replacement. If it is updated, activate the new configuration file and then upstream services are available.
