How Do I Eradicate My Phobia For Dogs by Genovese(m): 9:50pm On Dec 10, 2016

I love loyal pets and look forward to owning in the future. However, I've had not so pleasant experience with dogs as a kid, although never got bitten. I'm so scared of dogs. How do i eradicate this fear, and which breed do i start with if i want to get a pet dog?

You just can't change that.

Avoid dogs.

Owning a dog won't eradicate the fear.

We had a dog that we took as a sister, it still didn't change my phobia.

Only a psychologist can help you to some extent.

There are some things you don't learn at old age

To help you in your quest to eradicate the fear, get two puppies (German Shepherds preferably) as they are proven to be very intelligent breeds.
Then be actively involved in their training and feeding, play with them alot and take them to the vet regularly...
If you sincerely follow these steps, I assure you in three years, you'd be a dog trainer.

To start with, think of them as harmless and then get a puppy and start caring for it.

Get a puppy. Bringing up an infant dog that can't harm you, and growing to love it and watching it grow, that phobia will disappear. The best way to get rid of your fears is to face them

Phobia is an irrational fear of certain objects, events or situations, which arose from unpleasant associations of past events.

There are various ways or techniques you can self apply and practice .. but I seriously recommend you go online and read about SYSTEMATIC DESENSITIZATION.
download PDF files, take your time to read, digest, understand and practice. you might need someone to help you out, maybe a friend or family member.

You'll learn a lot.

I took the dog to the forest, chained it to a tree and left it there for 3 weeks

When i finally released the dog, even the owner no fit recognize am
