Last weekend, we were treated to a free action movie in the Championship clash between Preston and Sheffield Wednesday. Two players from

the same team decided enough is enough right in front of their fans and the television cameras. The referee made the right decision to send

them straight to the dressing room to continue their fight.

Let us take a look at the two and others in recent history;

5. Jermain Beckford against Eoin Doyle

Preston fans are still trying to understand why on earth two of their most loyal warriors decided to descend on each other last weekend in a 2-1

lose to Sheffield Wednesday.

Former Everton forward Jermain Beckford and his team-mate Eoin Doyle were sent off after engaging in a serious fist fight forcing the match to

be stopped for them to be separated. The referee produced a red card and they reduced to 9-man. A shameful scene for real, they eventually

lost the match.

4. Lee Bowyer against Kieron Dyer

When you hear St. James Park announcer call out these this two names on match day, you might actually think they are related or maybe from

the same neighbourhood. Well, that is not even close to the fact because the two decided to square up with each other right in the middle of a

league match.

Newcastle United was trailing 3-0 with less than 10 minutes to go and then Lee Bowyer decided Kieron Dyer is part of the problem. They had to

be separated by team-mates. The aggressor Mr. Lee Bowyer was banned for 7 games and both were forced to offer a public apology.

3. Benoit Assou-Ekotto against Benjamin Moukandjo

It is quite difficult to understand why former Tottenham Hotspurs defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto decided to headbutt his Cameroon team-mate

Benjamin Moukandjo at the end of 4-0 defeat to Croatia in 2014 Brazil World Cup.

“It’s unimaginable. I saw this happen and I need to find out exactly what happened, why exactly these two players exploded,” said Cameroon

Coach Volker Finke

“I hate to see that. It’s not the image of Cameroon I want to project.”

It was a match to forget for the West Africans because earlier in the match, former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song was also sent off for throwing

an elbow to stop Mario Mandzukic.
