How to get rid of prickly heat rash naturally?
If you have been looking for natural home remedies for skin rashes and itching in babies or adults, you can safely turn to coconut oil. Keep a large bottle of extra virgin coconut oil sourced from a good manufacturer on hand at all times. The oil is solid at room temperature so you need to rub a bit of it on your palms to melt it. You can even heat it on the stove or in the microwave. Apply the oil all over the rash to soothe itchy, inflamed skin. Repeat application several times a day. The oil is a bit greasy and could stain clothing and bed sheets. So, adults might want to apply the oil at night before sleeping-the rash will be surely healed overnight.
Coconut oil- Natural heat rash remedy
Coconut oil is an excellent skincare remedy. As stated above, it can be used to heal wounds, acne and all other types of skin rashes quickly. You can even use it as massage oil for babies and adults. The oil can be used all year round. In winters, it can heal and soothe dry, chapped skin. In summers, it can be used to prevent sunburn, heat rashes and other skin problems caused by hot, humid weather.Unlike mineral oil, coconut oil does not clog the skin pores; nor does it lead to any adverse skin reactions. It is the perfect natural heat rash remedy that can be used to heal bumps, redness, itchiness and pustules caused by clogged sweat pores.
It is due to these properties, that coconut oil is being increasingly used in soaps, lotions, moisturizers, sunscreen and even in baby skincare products. Adults can not only use coconut oil to get rid of prickly heat naturally, they can also benefit further by halting premature ageing. This is because of the specific nourishing compounds present in coconut oil which provide it with anti-aging properties.
How to use coconut oil to get rid of heat rash?
Apart from topical application, adults can also ingest a teaspoonful of coconut oil daily. Doing so offers many health benefits. The oil nourishes the body from inside out-it heals dry, parched skin, prevents premature aging and is also healthy for the heart.
Here are some easy ways to eat more coconut oil:
Use the oil for cooking, baking sautéing, frying and roasting.
Add a teaspoonful to your mug of black coffee or green tea.
Take a teaspoonful of it as is if you are okay with its taste.
Drizzle a bit over your salads.

Coconut oil relieves itching
Itching associated with eczema is one of the most troubling aspects of this condition. It also makes way for skin breaks that invite infections. Besides removing the dryness and roughness of skin which makes itching worse, coconut oil has a soothing action on itching itself. In fact, coconut oil is often used to relieve itching due to insect bites and nettle stings.
Applying warmed coconut oil just before bedtime is the best way to get children with eczema to sleep peacefully. Also, it helps to apply a thin layer of oil on exposed eczema patches before venturing out of the house. This protective layer prevents dust and other environmental pollutants from coming into direct contact with the sensitive area and trigger itching

Why Is Coconut Oil So Good For The Skin?

In our opinion, coconut oil is a great, natural alternative for your skin than many more expensive or commonly-used products. Coconut oil suits all skin types, whether your face is dry, oily, prone to breakouts, or sensitive.

if coconut oil is 100 per cent natural and free from chemicals and other harsh ingredients, it's even gentle enough to be used on the newest of newborn babies (we’ve known mums apply it to skin when babies are just a matter of hours old).

So, how does it work? Well, the medium-chain triglycerides (saturated fats) in coconut oil work to provide deep, long-lasting moisture to the skin that makes it silky to touch. Thanks to these wonderfully moisturising properties, coconut oil gives skin an even tone and may even reduces the appearance of the pores.

When you combine this with Vitamin E and proteins (both of which coconut oil has by the bucketload) you can see why Coconut Oil is so nourishing, providing natural goodness for your skin in every possible way. We think it's a fantastic way of rejuvenating skin and of repairing damage and preventing premature ageing and wrinkling.

Sounds pretty miraculous, doesn’t it? But, believe us, there’s more to this amazing skin treatment! Way, way more.

You see, coconut oil can also help with skin breakouts (making it a brilliant first moisturiser for teens and young skins, particularly those who suffer with acne).

Preventing Ageing:

Coconut oil is jam-packed with antioxidants which work to help your body fight against oxidation. This means that using coconut oil as a moisturiser, both on face and body, may help prevent and reduce age or sun spots. Since our coconut oil is completely natural and organic, you can also trust what you’re putting onto your skin (particularly beneficial for sensitive skins), unlike with many pricey night creams.

Natural Sunscreen:

One of the oldest uses of coconut oil is as a natural sunscreen. Why? Well, it has an incredible ability to heal the skin and block UV radiation. It’s also rich in antioxidants, which help to prevent burning. However, we’d advise strong caution when using coconut oil as a sunscreen as it has a relatively low SPF of approx. 3 or 4. In our experience, it’s best used as a wonderful after-sun lotion instead to moisturise and soothe sun-kissed skin.

Treat Cracked Heels and Hands:

Coconut oil can provide relief from dry or cracked skin, particularly on harder to treat areas such as the feet or hands. Every day use means our feet and hands are often the roughest or driest parts of the body but a little coconut oil love can go a long way. To treat, apply coconut oil to the area, before wrapping loosely with clingfilm or warm towels and leaving overnight.

You can even add a large teaspoon of coconut oil to some warm water in a foot or hand bath and let the oil soak into the skin, whilst you sit and relax.

Body Lotion and Moisturiser:

Thanks to the amazing chemical structure of coconut oil (it’s made up of medium-chain fatty acids – yep, we know we talk about them all the time!) it’s easily absorbed into the skin.

As you probably know, our skin naturally produces sebum, which is also a medium-chain fatty acid. This sebum helps to lubricate the skin and hair and prevent fungal and bacterial infections. However, sebum can be damaged by every day things such as washing or through broken skin. Using coconut oil as a moisturiser can help the skin to re-establish this natural chemical barrier, restoring moisture and elasticity to both the face and body.

Nappy Rash Cream:

Most babies suffer from these painful, inflamed rashes at some stage in their life – and it pays to have coconut oil in the nappy bag or bathroom cabinet when they do. Free from chemicals and harsh ingredients, we believe that coconut oil is a perfect barrier cream to treat nappy rash naturally.

Cradle Cap:

Cradle cap is an all-too familiar problem with newborns and can cause dry, flaky skin on the scalp of little ones. For a natural treatment, try gently massaging coconut oil onto your baby’s head and leaving for around 20 minutes. Simply rinse off and then use a baby brush to remove any loose flakes. The coconut oil moisturises and nourishes the dry skin and effectively removes cradle cap flakes.

AM SO TRYING THIS
Detox – Detoxification is widely known in the alternative medicine realm. Often used at the beginning of new seasons such as spring but is found in some traditional cultures as being a routine of say once a month. A toxic build up can be caused by many things. Often it’s poor diet and lack of exercise as well as antibiotics and other prescription medicines. A toxic build up can bring about many illnesses and conditions. Often you will notice tiredness, lack of energy, aches and pains as the first signs. Your immune system weakens under excess amount of toxins causing anything from Asthma to Yeast Infections.
There are many natural aids on the market used for detoxification. One of them is Coconut Oil. According to Bruce Fife, author of “Coconut Cures” there are 4 reasons why coconut oil makes such a good cleanser.
1. MCFAs (medium chain fatty acids) in coconut oil kill disease-causing bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. These microorganisms not only cause infection but also often produce toxic byproducts that are carcinogenic or poisonous.
2. Coconut oil is chemically very stable so it functions as an antioxidant protecting against destructive free radicals that are often generated by toxins.
3. MCFAs in coconut oil are used by the body as a source of fuel to stimulate metabolism. As metabolism increases so does the body’s natural mechanisms of detoxification, repair, and growth. Even the immune system is shifted to a higher level of efficiency.
4. Coconut oil neutralizes the harmful effects of many toxins including the deadly aflatoxin.
Coconut Oil Detox
Bruce Fife says:
The Coconut Oil Detox is the most effective method I have seen to rebalance the digestive system and get it functioning normally again. It is far superior to a simple water fast or even a juice fast. Juice fasts, including the Coconut Water Fast, have one major drawback: they contain a lot of sugar. If you are trying to fight a systemic candida infection or an overgrowth of unfriendly bacteria, you don’t want to keep feeding these microbes sugar, which they thrive on…..
While on this fasting program don’t be surprised if you expel from your bowels some awful looking stuff. Your body is cleansing all types of noxious debris.
With coconut oil you have a better source of calories in the form of MCFAs. Unlike juice fasting, these fats do not feed unfriendly microbes, but they do feed the cells and tissues in the intestinal wall and thus promote healing. They also boost energy levels so that we can function normally without any additional food or source of calories.
In this fast you are encouraged to drink plenty of water. You are also allowed to drink sugarless lemonade (see recipe below). Drink as much as you want. In addition to the water and lemonade, you will consume coconut oil.
He recommends between 10-14 tablespoons per day. If you can’t handle this much oil, back off a bit and eat as much as you can. The oil should be consumed throughout the day – not all at once.
He recommends not eating coconut oil after 6 or 7 pm as it gives some people too much energy and they have difficulty sleeping.
The oil can be eaten by the spoonful if you don’t have a problem with it. Make sure you use a good quality virgin cold pressed coconut oil. The other suggestion is to add the oil to the sugarless lemonade and drink it.
2 tablespoons of coconut oil to 1 cup of sugarless lemonade. Drink this mixture every two hours or so throughout the day and you will get your 10-14 tablespoons of coconut oil.
Drink a cup of this mixture first thing in the morning as your breakfast and every two hours until about 6 or 7 pm. You may continue to drink the lemonade or filtered water until you go to bed but do not take anymore coconut oil.
The other alternative is to mix 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil into a 1/4 cup plain, unsweetened preferably organic yogurt. Add 4 drops of liquid stevia to sweeten. Drink some sugarless lemonade afterwards.
Re: COCONUT OIL _ Heat Rash (home Remedy ) by beckytunde(f): 9:44am On Dec 15, 2016
CONTINUATION
During the fast you are allowed to eat a small amount of fresh coconut if you like. Avoid dried and especially sweetened coconut. Limit the amount to just a few ounces per day. Coconut meat is beneficial because it is very high in fiber and feeds the good bacteria in the gut. Coconut meat also provides roughage to help keep the intestines moving and expelling dead bacteria and yeasts. It can also help settle the stomach, which can feel a little queasy with all the oil you are consuming.
During the cleanse you will consume only filtered water, sugarless lemonade, coconut oil, and a small amount of coconut meat – nothing else except plain yogurt if you choose that method. You will feel a little hungry at first but you will not starve or become malnourished.
The cleanse can be done for 3 or 7 days. If you decide to do it longer you may need to seek the guidance of someone experienced in fasting to help you.
If you have serious health problems you may want to check with your doctor before doing it longer. Most people can manage a 3 day Coconut Oil Detox. You may want or need to do several 3 day cleanses.
Important note:
If you know that your diet is poor and has been for awhile then it is recommended that you take 2-4 weeks of preparation. The reason for this is that a poor diet leads to a low nutritional status, therefore having few nutritional reserves.
Here is what is recommended:
Start eating more fresh vegetables and whole grains. (If you already have a diagnosed candidiasis then grains will not be recommended.) Instead stick to proteins, in the form or eggs, chicken, fish and some red meat but mostly vegetables. Have at least 1 salad a day as a main meal. Add at least 1 and up to 3 tablespoons of coconut oil to your diet every day. Eliminate sweets, coffee, alcohol, white rice, white bread and flour products, and junk food. If you do this before the fast you will get better results and have a much easier time.
Another important note:
If you experience intestinal discomfort, naseau, or lower back pain during the fast, eat more salt and make sure you are consuming plenty of water. One sign of needing more salt is if water begins to taste stale or dull rather than refreshing. Use only unrefined sea salt and add a pinch to each glass of water you have.
Healing Crisis
Be aware that many people when fasting for the first time and certainly if you have never had coconut oil before may experience an accelerated form of cleansing. It can sometimes be a range of symptoms or just 1 or 2. Things to look out for is diarrhea, skin breakouts, tiredness and fatigue and nausea. It will pass but this is why it is strongly recommended to start off with smalls amounts of coconut oil first and work up to a bigger quantity

Do you or your closest friends or family cough? Then you definitely have to try this healthy, homemade sweets.
The sweets are made from all-natural ingredients, they soothe coughing, and you can take them as a preventive because of their ability to strengthen the immune system.
Ingredients:
100 ml coconut oil
100 grams raw honey
a pinch of ceylon cinnamon, optional
Preparation:
1. Whip the coconut oil until frothy.
2. Add honey and keep whisking until you get a homogenous mixture.
3. Finally, add cinnamon and combine all the ingredients together.
4. Pour the mixture into ice trays and put them in the freezer for 20 minutes.
5. Take the sweets off the ice trays, transfer them to a jar and keep it in the fridge.
Use these candies preventively, thanks to the fact that coconut oil and honey strengthen the immune system.

Coconut oil for arthritis...who knew?

Have you been looking for a cure for your arthritis pain?

Do you avoid doing the things you love because you just hurt too much?

Well, hear this! There is a cure for arthritis and it’s not stored away in your medicine cabinet!
Unlike what you may hear from others and even your doctor, this condition is curable. It develops from an overload of toxins in the system. These toxins build up around the joint and cause pain and inflammation.

Traditional medicine continues to ameliorate symptoms (i.e. manage pain) but in our opinion has been focused in the wrong direction. The management of symptoms only gets you so far. Rather than just look at symptoms, the more helpful scenario is to focus on cause.

So...this is where coconut oil for arthritis comes in. Again, mother nature has provided a real solution!

Whether you want to ease your muscle aches, loosen up stiff joints or relieve the pain of arthritis, coconut oil can bring you the relief you seek.

Coconut oil is not like other fats. It offers relief to your muscles and joints because it contains a special group of fats known as medium-chain fatty acids. By nature, these fatty acids possess important healing properties.

Benefits of Using Coconut Oil For Arthritis
Internally and externally coconut oil benefits arthritis pain because it acts as:

An anti-inflammatory
A pain reliever
Muscle & joint lubricant and relaxant

Anti-Inflammatory
Coconut oil for arthritis is considered one of the best natural remedies for inflamed muscles and joints. Arthritis can be very painful and debilitating. Even doing simple tasks or getting around normally can be a challenge.

This is why we recommend coconut oil. It effectively reduces inflammation and is very soothing to inflamed tissues and joints. It also strengthens bones.
Re: COCONUT OIL _ Heat Rash (home Remedy ) by beckytunde(f): 8:42am On Dec 19, 2016
Gentle Lubricant
Using coconut oil for arthritis to lubricate muscles and joints works extremely well. This is especially true after a bath or shower.

As a gentle lubricant coconut oil benefits you because:

It promotes circulation in joints.
It reduces stiffness and increases joint flexibility.
*Many arthritis and fibromyalgia sufferers have found that when they take coconut oil internally as well as apply it externally that their pain significantly diminishes.

Over time, they find it can even disappear!

Some people find that applying a heating pad to the area after massaging the oil on the muscle or joint helps even more.

This is because the oil becomes more viscous and the heat accelerates and deepens penetration.
Re: COCONUT OIL _ Heat Rash (home Remedy ) by beckytunde(f): 8:58am On Dec 19, 2016
What Is The Proper Dosage?

Coconut Oil Alone:

Coconut oil for arthritis as a natural remedy requires different dosages depending on whether you want to prevent or treat the condition.

Naturally, the dosage will be higher if you want to treat as opposed to prevent.

So, when you begin treatment for arthritis pain, a common guideline is:

“for every 50 pounds of body weight, take 1 teaspoon of oil.”
We advise staying at this daily amount until your body gets used to the oil. Then, you can increase your daily intake by another teaspoon.

Eventually, you want to work up to 1 tablespoon per day. (Maybe more depending on severity of symptoms).

For prevention, a good place to begin is 1 teaspoon per day.

Externally, we have seen good results if you massage the oil onto the affected joint(s) 2-3 times per day.

Coconut Oil With Molasses, Apple Cider Vinegar or Turmeric:

The ratio is 1:1 coconut oil to molasses or apple cider vinegar. For example, if you take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, then take 1 tablespoon of molasses or apple cider vinegar at the same time.

If you take turmeric with coconut oil it depends on whether you take capsules or powder.

Capsules= 8 per day, 2x/day (that is 4 capsules @ 400mg, 2x/day).

Powder= 1 teaspoon per day.

*Both are taken right along with coconut oil.

Coconut Oil And Diabetes Management
The greatest advantage of using pure, virgin coconut oil for diabetes over drugs is that coconut oil is a food that nourishes cells that are weakening and malnourished. Dr. Bruce Fife states, “every cell in our bodies needs a continual supply of either glucose or fatty acids to fuel metabolic functions and keep them alive. If the cells can’t get enough glucose they weaken and die.” (2)

The incredible benefit of using coconut oil for diabetes is that it doesn’t require insulin to enter and feed cells. However, insulin is required for glucose or long-chain fatty acids to enter cells.

Some of the healthiest people around the world are those that live in cultures that consume coconut oil on a daily basis. People in cultures that eat coconut oil regularly have never experienced diabetes and don’t even know what it is! (This is true for other Western diseases too)

However, some islanders are abandoning their traditional coconut oil diets in favor of a more Western one that includes processed sugar, flour and refined oils and they’re suffering for it.

By abandoning their traditional coconut oil diet, they are experiencing an increase in diabetes (and other illnesses) that are plaguing our culture.

Other Coconut Oil And Diabetes Benefits Are...
It contains medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA's) that are smaller and more easily absorbed which relieves stress on pancreas.
Improves insulin secretion and utilization of blood glucose.
Slows absorption of food taken during a meal preventing hunger afterwards.
It provides an energy boost to the body without causing an increase in blood sugar levels.
It balances the activity of the thyroid gland which in turn regulates metabolism.
Helps relieve symptoms and reduce health risk associated with diabetes.
(3)

More Coconut Oil and Diabetes Tips...
Even though Type 1 diabetes is autoimmune in nature and isn't related to diet and lifestyle, there is evidence now to suggest that coconut oil helps control sweet cravings and can elevate energy levels and lift low moods.

Type 2 diabetes (often referred to as adult-onset diabetes) can be reversed by adjusting your diet to include more protein and saturated fats and reducing or eliminating refined sugars, refined carbohydrates and alcohol.

Metabolism speeds up when you ingest coconut oil because it contains medium-chain fatty acids that provide a valuable source of energy. An increase in metabolism benefits those wanting to lose weight.

The consumption of coconut oil helps to reduce carbohydrate cravings that lead to insulin resistance.
