sarrki:If the land which their property sits on does not have Lagos state government gazette. Then apart from the demolition, they still owe government money for illegally building on government lands and be arrested until they pay No sentiments. |

sarrki: If demolition of new houses is what you call development, then NIGERIA is doomed. I was going to wish it to you and your family members, but that will be very bad of me. Demolition of houses is no where near development in my opinion.Peace. |

mescan: Have you taught of the fact that the houses have not being completely knocked down. So is it possible that the houses have contravened certain building regulations. Is it too our much to be law abiding when developing housing units. And you start to compare us with western countries. In London you will already ve building approval before you start building. It's common sense Abeg jooooo. |

buchilino: If you are familiar with the area, you would not say that. The proportion of Igbos or easterners can not be more than 30-35% in that area. Even such a high figure is down mainly to the fact that most people are relatively new migrants to the area & they are attracted by new developments. It is good to be enlightened rather than miseducate people. The two main protagonists are actually a Yoruba man and another from Kogi. They are the parties to the dispute over what was a family land. The land was acquired by government a while ago through the NTDA, new towns devolepment agency. The contention was that it was an illegal acquisition by government. Those who understand land matters in Lagos would be familiar with such an issue. The root of the title is in dispute. The matter is still in court. The demolitions were unnecessary at this time. The order did not appear to come from Alausa. Miltary personnel were used to enforce the demolition. The matter is being dealt with. |
