System Update Problem by olate: 12:47am On Jan 05, 2017
I just purchased an Acer mini laptop, with windows 7 os newly installed, but whenever i use this system with my modem, it consume about 200BM of data within a few minutes without me visiting any web page, this happens each time i insert my modem to use the internet. could the computer be updating something? what can i do to halt this ? i have lost several gigabytes of data to this .Could there be something i have not done?

cheesy How about you let it finish.
just kidding

Goto control panel
select system & security
Then turn off automatic update ( This means the system won't update automatically again, you have to enable it manually)

if it ain't Windows update
just enter the task manager
By right clicking on the status bar & selecting task manager( ctrl+alt+del)
Goto performance tab, then resource monitor & finally select the network button, it will show all the apps currently chopping data for ur system & then select, and click end to put it out of action

Goodluk
