Guus Hiddink Set To Return To Chelsea After Russia's World Cup Exit

Guus Hiddink plans to return to Chelsea as technical director following his failure to guide Russia to the World Cup. Hiddink said yesterday that an announcement on his future could come as early as next month. He has a contract as Russia's head coach until the end of June 2010 but sources say the Dutchman will almost certainly quit and take a job at Chelsea.

If this happens, the Guus-Carlotti combo could be a dangerous one. That is, if they can successfully get past the ''I know better than him'' stage.
Both men are individual professionals with successful footballing methods.
If their ideas don't clash, Chelsea will be the club to reckon with.

Guus Hiddink? Technical Director?
Me thinks he should look for some sinking ship (like 'pool) to weave his magic on
We fine, cool

He started the journey of your 'fineness', remember.

He probably still sees himself as the founder of Chelsea's new look. grin
Besides, Roman loves him.

I think two big "egos" in charge of the same club will eventually lead to problems. What happens when he disagrees with Ancelloti? Who gets the final word? Will the other be happy with the situation?

My thoughts exactly.
Also there could be divided loyalty among the players. . .some might support the coach, others the technical adviser.

Well, Roman can always fire Carlotti if things don't work out. cheesy grin

No place for Guus Hiddink right now.

Even the one player he recommended to Chelsea (Zhirkov) is not the ideal player for Carlotti's system.

Read the article. . .Chelsea's given the impression that they are ready to welcome Guus anytime in any capacity.
Means it's very likely he heads that way.

Then what? Will definitely be interesting to observe.
