I want to say something about the spirituality debate. You don't believe in God? That's ok, but why is it so important for many of you to mock those of us that do? If we're wrong, what have we lost when we die? Nothing! How does our faith in Jesus Christ bring you any harm? You think it makes me stupid? Gullible? Ignorant? That's ok too. How does that affect you? If you're wrong your consequence is far worse. I would rather live my life believing in God and serving Him, and find out I was right, than not believe in Him and not serve Him, and find out I was wrong. Then it's too late.Ain't no shame in my game! I believe in Jesus Christ. He said deny me in front of your friends & I will deny you in front of my Father.

I have seen this post like 4 times on facebook. Why can't you Christians be original for once. Anyone who looks to the bible as a source of morality will be sadly disappointed. Any book that condones genocide, slavery and doesn't punish the rape of young girls except by forcing the rapist to marry his victim should be held in contempt by anyone with even a smidgen of moral fiber

Pascal's Wager again?

"If I tell you I will kill you unless you believe that 1+1=3, you may tell me that 1+1=3 just to save your life, but you won't actually believe it. Thus the Wager fails." Unless, of course, God can be impressed by atheists who merely pretend to believe so that they can avoid punishment.

So many people treat Pascal's Wager like the ultimate 'gotcha' that I have to wonder: Has it ever worked? Has there ever been someone who responded with "You're right! It is safer to believe! I will believe from now on! Thank you for saving my immortal soul!" Do these Pascal purveyors even care if anyone is convinced or not? Or is it another case of preaching to the choir? They can pat each other on the back and say "Ha ha, good one!"

Pascal rarely works on the outsider and never works on those of us who have been deep inside as True Believers™. I think the reason is a fallacy implicit in Christian's use of the Wager that is rarely pointed out...they claim that even if God doesn't exist, Christianity is a great, excuse me, BEST way to live.
This assumption hardly needs to be refuted here but Christianity as a whole has a (well earned) odious reputation not only in the secular world, but increasingly from within its own ranks. Young people in particular are leaving the church (and their orthodoxy) at an astounding rate. As various surveys have shown, Christianity is synonymous in people's minds with anti-abortion (notice I did NOT say 'pro-life') and anti-LGBQT. Of course, this is to say nothing of the of the internal acrimony present in the ranks

As a former Believer (with a capital 'B') I am well aware of the hypocrisy and judgmental arrogance of Christianity and their tribal and clannish, controlling mindset.
