Twelve years ago, I was living in an area called Iju water works on the mainland under ifako Ijaiye local Government. I had my businesses there and everything was going on fine.

So, a man walked into my shop one day and advised me to buy a plot of land around Ajah. My husband took a trip to Ajah and all he saw was packets of tatch and mud houses with women just tying wrapper. *Absolutely no development at all* so we decided, it was no good for investment, besides, *It's too far*

2 years after then, my husband got a job with a construction company that posted him to a site at Sangotedo after Ajah , and I got an employment at Ecobank and was posted to Ikota Shopping Complex, we had no choice but to relocate to an area called Abijo after Ajah. Same year, our landlord told us to buy a plot of land for 350k but we couldn't afford it. A year later when we could afford it, we bought that same plot for N1.4M. As at last year, same plot was commanding N15m.

*So I ask myself*
12 years ago when I said, Ajah was far, *Far from where? ��‍♀* My bedroom!

Where did I take my reference point from? Iju water works?.
*what are the developments in Ajah today* Just companies, Estates, people etc.

BEVERLY HILLS, October 02, (THEWILL) – The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Daddy GO, on Sunday revealed how the church bought its massive campground located along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for N6,000.

Adeboye narrated, “When this place became too small I asked my elders to look for a bigger space. Then, I just graduated from the university with less than two years. So, they eventually saw a land around Iju for N54,000.

“Funny enough, I was not even having even N54k. My elders were angry with me because I refused to borrow. In fact, if our church was the kind of churches where they vote, I’d have been impeached because I told them I was not going to borrow.

“Few days later, a member was going to Ibadan from Lagos and he saw the land and called that the people were ready to accept N6, 000. I told him not to even negotiate and we quickly paid for it. That is our redemption camp today,” he said.

Prospect: What is this survey all about when I buy a land?

A Survey Plan is a document that measures the boundary of a parcel of land. It gives an accurate measurement, description of the piece of land and contains the following information: the name of the owner of the land surveyed, the address or description, the size and the drawn out portion as mapped out on the survey plan document. Other information that a survey plan contain includes: the beacon numbers, the Surveyor who drew up the survey plan and the date it was drawn and a stamp showing that the land is either free from government acquisition or not.

So how and why does one chart a survey plan in Lagos?

The major reason why a survey plan is charted is to get what is known as a Land Information. Before a transaction is consummated over a plot of land, it is always advisable to Chart the Survey Plan presented for the land to basically find out whether it falls under government acquisition or not and as well authenticate the claim of ownership to the land.

While Charting a Survey Plan can be done by private individuals or organisations, it is also one of the procedures involved in the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy or Governor’s Consent to persons who have applied for them at the Lagos State Land Bureau.
