The tecno l8 plus is an amazing device but it has a locked bootloader which makes it difficult to root with apps like kingroot and also installing twrp custom recovery. So after lots of research i finally found a way to way to root and install TWRP recovery... Here is what i did
1. Install miracle box on your pc
2. install "l8 plus" drivers through pda net
3. back up your phone through miracle box on your pc
4. download update android 5.1lollipop supersu v 2.46.zip and twrp recovery on forum..com
5. thick Save as scatter during your miracle box backup
6. then copy d downloaded twrp to the folder where miracle box backup is located in your pc and rename it to recovery.bin.. remember to rename the original recovery.bin so as to keep as backup
7. Then off your phone and flash the preloader.bin and recovery.bin through miracle box on your pc.
8. boot into recovery and flash the supersu.zip u download earlier.
Note u av to unlock the bootloader tru adb on pc 1st b4 doing anything else. Check forum for miracle box tutorials and also the twrp for teco l8plus (l8plus-h805c1-l-......) check google for the supersu if u cnt find it on forum

To unlock bootloader check google on how to unlock camon c9 bootloader and follow the same process. Dont worry its the same process because it's what i used.
Note: u must av all drivers ( vcom, usb and adb divers for this and miracle box to work) Check forum to download the miracle box and it's tutorials. If all goes well your devices should have twrp and be rooted in no time. search google for mt6577 vcom drivers and also pda net to get adb driver. Comment if av a question. Note this tutorial is for tecno l8 plus with the specified build number.

I unlocked my bootloader just like u said n installed drivers using pda net but miracle box cannot connect to my fone were am I going wrong? am unable to backup my fone am stuck here plz help

u need to install the ff for miracle box to detect ur phone
make sure vcom drivers are installed
adb driver through pda net
switch d phone off b4 connecting to miracle box.
Miracle box will only detect d phone when its off.

what is ff for miracle box? i owes switch off the fone b4 connection but it just starts to charge.do i need to press anything on the fone in order for it to be detected?

press volume up or power button once for miracle box to detect ur phone. And av u installed vcom drivers. it's very important u do so. this will allow the system to detect your phone when switched off. download vcom for mt6577 and manually install it. Check google for how to....

download d correct twrp from H-O-V-A-T-E-K FORUM. REMOVE D HYPHEN and search d forum tru google

Try downloading the correct file. Check d forum i told u in d previous post to download working miracle box. It's easy

And be careful not to soft brick ur phone in d process.

i managed to root my fone after installing correct drivers (miracle box driver installation exe) but i cudnt run twrp coz touch wasnt working wen i boot into recovery so i downloaded cwm ported for tecno l8 plus it worked very well.i managed to flash SuperSu via cwm recovery. but i have another problem, my fone started showing invalid imei no sim then i downloaded chamelon apk it worked but i have lost 3g network. ita working wel on 2g but when i switch to 3g it shows no network.. i need my 3g back plz help me

This is probably because u use an imei of a phone with no 3g or dial *#*#4636#*#* and scroll down to where u select network and put it on WCDMA. May be it will work. Try using d phones imei again and i if u backed up ur devices b4 flashing super su restore it nd flash super su updated version. Also check ur phone settings. And maybe d network u are trying to use has no 3g in ur area. Try other network b4 concluding

After Which I have backup and download twrp and copy it to d file I downloaded, this what d respond it was given

i used the original fone imei from the box it came with when fixing it.we have 3g network here i also used mtk engineering mode to check for 3g all settings ok. i hav also noticed tht i can only access 3g when the fone is put on 2g/3g but but putting it on 3g alone doesn't work. internet is slow when its on auto coz at tyms it changes from 3g to 2g when u don't need it

To backup using miracle box click d read under mtk tab and connect it. If u want to back it up like so that u can use sp flashtool then tick save as scatter box. If u av done all i said earlier n it doesn't work, then u need to backup 1st n do a factory reset from recovery (TWRP recommended) then root again with updated supersu. After factory resetting d phone, check if d network is ok then backup again b4 rooting. This should work.

I backed up my friends l8 plus and flashed it on my fone 3g network is now fine and stable thanx.kindly upload the twrp recovery u used coz mine cant work am using cwm. Whenever I flash twrp the touch screen doesn't respond in recovery so cant use it

pls help me post d link for working custom rom for tecno l8 plus. because i flashed AICP 10 and CR droid custom roms for l8 and l8 plus. after flashing each of the rom got screen touch not functioning, and later the screen turned black with white and yellow lines. pls help ported another working rom tested for tecno l8 plus only. it seems that non of the roms posted from different forums works for tecno l8 plus. stock rom sucks!!
