First of, I want to acknowledge the fact that every writer deep down inside yearns for fame; whether you are an up and coming one or a renowned writer- there is often a strong emotional affinity towards seeing one's work gain massive recognition.

I hereby expound below 10 pragmatic steps every passionate writer should ideally follow on the way up to the zenith in the world of literature. I hope you find it informative and inspiring.

NOTE: Sentences made of block letters are deliberately put in place to lay emphasis on headings(points), don't mistake them for goofs.

(1) MAKE SURE THAT YOU REALLY WANT TO BECOME A WRITER: Understand first what taking up a career in writing is all about- professional writing anchors on a burning passion in the heart of the writer, time devotion and perseverance.

(2) READ MANY BOOKS: Yes it is necessary that a writer should be versatile with words and their proper contextual applications. Reading books will enrich your vocabulary.

(3) WRITE AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE : Put down something everyday. Whether you consider it a nonsense or logical set of sentences; get someone who is a seasoned and experienced writer to proof read your work and correct you where necessary.

(4) WRITE A JOURNAL: It will help you feel how it is to write. Even if it's a fiction or non-fiction one. Just get the hang of it.

(5) SUBMIT THEM ONE BY ONE: let your works be read. Soon after, you will probably be recognised by a magazine or website.

(6) NEVER GIVE UP: A good old cliché so goes "winners never quit". While you anticipate people you show your work to express likeness for it, understand you need patience because there is a probability that your work may or may not receive the kind of response you may be expecting.

(7) WRITE: whatever you are interested in reading, go ahead and extradite a write up reflecting it. Let your characters be real to you, know your characters from Eve.

(cool GET OTHERS TO READ YOUR WORKS AND GIVE YOU SUGGESTIONS.

(9) POST YOUR MATTER ON NET OR OPEN A BLOG AND UPLOAD IT ONLINE.
