Spirit Meat - Don’t Spare Yourself In Divine Assignment - 2 Samuel 11:1, 1 Samu by Nobody: 12:40am On Jan 17, 2017
A divine assignment will deliver a man from satanic appointment. In 2 Sam11:1, David was at home at a time that kings go to battle. That is, David was not in a place of assignment at that time and he fell into sexual sin and impregnated Bathsheba – the wife of his lieutenant which later turned him to a murderer by arranging that the husband of that woman be killed, all in the name of covering his tracks.

This was a regrettable error that did not leave him the same because of its ripple consequences on his house especially among his children which could have been prevented by his involvement in divine assignment. Just imagine David on the battle field that day instead of sparing himself to stay back home, he would have saved himself the pain of that error. As you know that David on the battle field cannot be tempted by the naked body of a thousand Beersheba because the assignment would have protected and blinded him to such temptation.

When you see brothers in Zion that are not properly harnessed in assignment, they are those who impregnate girls and commit different atrocities because they have enough time to loaf around. There are two stories that defined the life of David; whenever you think of him those stories pop up (i) David and Goliath (ii) David and Beersheba. The former is a story of great encouragement that God is faithful to his covenant while the latter is a story of warning at least of the danger of not taking heed to yourself or sparing yourself in divine assignment. You must take heed to yourself and give yourself fully to divine assignment and let it preserve you. Don’t listen to anyone that mocks you while doing divine assignment by telling you that they are using you. If it’s a divine assignment, you are not being used but being made.

You must ask yourself if you are creating enough allowance for your assignment or you already have excuses not to be involved. The unprofitable servant (Matt. 25:14-25) had enough excuses to explain his sparing tendency, but not without punishment. God does not give hand out, he gives assignments. That is, when God wants to promote you, he gives you an assignment at the new level, as you accept and respond to it, grace and capacity are released to you. Therefore, you must protect your assignment such that it is not withdrawn from you because lost assignment means lost grace and if it happened that an assignment has been taken from you, you must fight justly to get it back.

PRAYER: Lord, I pray that you will give me grace to give my assignment the seriousness it deserves and to always be faithful in the place of my assignment in Jesus’ name. Amen.
