Being Moral, Being Righteous. by Davidlein(m): 4:02pm On Jan 20, 2017
I am not writing this piece to create argument or commotion, but it is very essential we understand things as they are.
Most people, especially youth are always found guilty of confusing 'being moral' for 'being righteous'. But it is obvious that this things are related but totally different.

We should understand that a person who upholds high standard of decent behaviour can be considered as moral, a moral person is one whose conduct is good or virtuous, especially concerning ethical conduct. It also means that you try to do what is right and ethical.
Being moral gives you self-respect. You feel good about yourself when you know you are doing the right thing.

Being righteous literally means to be right, especially in a moral way. We can see here that they are related but it is very essential we know they are totally different.
The righteous person not only does the right thing for other people but also follows the laws of their religion. Righteousness deals directly with religious laws.

Being righteous means you are perfect and Holy.
Being righteous is being right for God.

Being righteous automatically makes you moral but being moral doesn't mean you're righteous.
