Charles Aigbe, Group Head, Corporate Communications, United Bank for Africa (UBA) has become “well known, so popular, so celebrated, so famous, that it permits him to break wind in corporate sector, and society would think it a most natural thing.”
Aigbe is one of the country’s most famous public relation gurus, who command respect in the Nigerian banking and financial sectors at large.
If snippets emanating from the banks are anything to go by, Edo State-born has wave goodbye to the leading Pan-African financial institution with presence in 19 African countries.
Insiders at the bank’s Headquarters at Marina, Lagos, disclosed that some top management staff of the bank have been angry with him and have, for a long time, been looking for an opportunity to push him out of the bank.
According to the insider, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, “Aigbe has been under pressure since former Chairman of the bank, Tony Elumelu left the bank, and everybody believe he (Aigbe) is Chairman’s ‘boy.’”
Our findings however reveal, Mr. Aigbe has decided to pitch his tenth with another financial institution, Fidelity Bank as Divisional Head, Brand and Communications.
Meanwhile, we learnt that Mr. Ramon Nasir; Head of Media Relations of UBA, has been promoted as Acting Group Head, Corporate Communications.
