NIGERIAN SINKHOLE
We are sorry Nigeria
For all the hysteria
Our ancestors malaria
Has cursed us with paranoia

Our fore fathers
Sold hate to their brothers
Who were hurt by strangers
Who they helped from the panthers

Ever since Dan fodio spilled blood
Our land has been filled by blood thirsty hoardes
Our fathers sold their children for snuff
The others sold all their lineage for salt!

We are sorry Nigeria for all the dishonesty
Even if we try to do things honestly
Our conscience fries every hope of chastity
It's not of our making to uphold pure honesty!

We have failed to develop our lands
The few who try, steal from the poorest in the land
They build their mansions and become popular demand
While their oppressors only offer Libation to the gods underground

We are a city filled with curses!
Wicked men with few purses
While they aimlessly try to repel this evil forces
They boast of how wicked they have been to others cases

While we look to America and Europe!
We've tied our peace to a strange rope
Our dances to this foreign cultural troupe
Betrays the very creativity our fore fathers held as hope!

No race is as resilient as Nigerians!
Our civilised elite are the monsters and barbarians!
Who taught us impunity mixed in religious for puritanians
Religious folks yet fickle Nigerians

We are sorry for trusting our oppressors!
Our leaders side with the very puveryors
Our cultural heritage! The ancient plan with the surveyor
Lost to the greed of our first ancestors

No country hates it's citizens like Nigeria!
If the jets don't bomb you! The police will create hysteria
If the army don't shoot protesters
The navy will kill traditional distillers!

We are sorry Nigeria
Where we celebrate political thieves
And shame hard work because they are not from your place!
We allow ethnic bigots to determine the barometer of excellence
While these frustrated brains weep! We all suffer with our teeths

Am sorry Nigeria!
I wished you could call me Liberia!
Or celebrate me like Monrovia
Yet you choose to make me look like Nigeria!

Am sorry Nigeria
You have sold every item of justice!
While you seek peace!
Where there is justice isn't there peace?
While you look for peace after you miss!

Am sorry I am a Nigerian
Wishing things were eligaritarian
But our masters of deceit are the evil praetorian
That has sold love for ethnic circadian

I am not from your tribe
But I am a Nigerian!
See me as that
Not your ethnic judgements!

I am a Nigerian!
Not Nyamiri
Not Uneghe
Not Afonja
Not an infidel!

Pure of blood
Different in acts
Soft in heart
Livened with audacity

I am that Nigeria of your dreams
That unbelievable dream
I am that dream
That Nigeria of your dream

The dream away from the oppression
Armed forces brutality
Religious crisis and ethnic segregation!
That is my Nigeria!

We are sorry
For all these dreams
Are just in my head
When I wake! The horrors are the daily nightmares!
