Buy unlocked modem and get Glo and MTN sim cards. That way you are the master. Just an advice anyway.

I just got an mtn mordem today and its very fast

If only the modem wasn't annoyingly long. And whats with the cover with no string attaching it to the modem? That cover will soon litter places cuz they'll all get lost somehow.
In a matter of months gravity will start acting on most modems and u'll see 'em slightly slanted downwards. Just a lil careless nudge and you'll snap the modem in two.

well, its not fast at my end. i think what mtn should have done first is to make sure they have 3G coverage throughout the country before assaulting the airwaves with this noisy promo. it's just like mtn to try and rip off nigerians. imagine the cheek! selling 3g modems to customers they know are crawling on gprs!

now most times i use d cable dat came wit it. . . but mainly jst to crate space for d oda usb port beside it

i use my mtn f@stlink with glo ,zain and etisalat.it all depends on how well you know the network and how to configure them, easy

G, U need to tell us if it the new one or the old type they sell for N16k. ZTE or Huawei?

well, i was surprised to recieve a text from glo the other day. says they're now selling thier modems for 8,500 too! i just smiled. so the competition is heating up. i'm sure very soon it will get to the turn of the cdma guys.

George, Did you say something about the speeds? Yes, i guess I read you well. I borrowed a friend's Zain 3G modem just to try on my PC. After it installed itself on the coolest plug and play mode, introduced itself as 3G modem, started browsing with the youg man's N10,000 data plan, then, suddenly, the next day, it went on to 230.4kbps. I have trying to tweak it from my PC network modem setup tp what I was using with my phone (960.6kbps) but anytime I restart for the change to take effect, it returns and sticks to 230.4kbps. The ownre took it the next day. Can anybody explain my experience to me?

Philcool it just shows that your on edge and not 3g. that is the kind of deceit our service providers have been up to: selling 3g modems to those not yet covered by the 3 g network!
