Dear Sir.

PETITION AGAINST MADAM RASHIDAH ADEDOYIN ADEKOALA ( MANAGER, PENCOM DEPARTMENT UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA, UBA) FOR UNLAWFUL EVICTION AND TAKING OVER OF RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY WITH THE USE OF THUGS AND RECIDIVIST “AREA BOYS” IN CONTRAVENTION OF THE PROPERTY PROTECTION LAW OF LAGOS STATE 2016

We are solicitors to 1.Alhaji Abdulahi Adebayo 2. Mr Olotu Omaoka 3. Mrs. Fashola 4. Oludimeji Awote 5. Abimbola Durojaiye 6. Mr Anthony Irewean 7. Mrs Movon hereinafter referred to as our clients of whose instruction we write you this letter as follows;
1.That our clients has been in occupation of No.,6 Adenekan Street, Fadeyi Lagos State for several decades and has never had any contract with Madam Rashidat Adekola even.

2.That about two years ago, Our clients were arrested by Men of Lagos State Police SCID,panti yaba, based on a petition by Madam Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola claimong that she is the owner, having recently purchased No. 6 Adenekan Street, Fadeyi and that when she visited her property she met Touts smoking Indian Hemp who refused her to enter her premises.

3.That our client are not touts but are made up of very respectable parents and well to do members of the society and neither did they see Mrs. Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola visit the property till date talk less of preventing her from entering.
4.That after our client secured their bail, they were told to return another day for interview of the parties, but on that day, neither Mrs Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola nor her lawyers were present, after several appointment at SCID, panti without Mrs Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola honouring any appointment, the matter was closed.

5.Our clients were later invited by the Citizens Mediation Agency under Lagos State Government by Madam Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola, which our client also honoured but Madam Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola did not attend the sitting again nor was she represented by a Legal Practitioner.

6.That Our Clients were later dragged to the Magistrate Court of Lagos State, sitting at yaba, where Mrs Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola filed several Recovery of Possession action claiming to be purchased the property from ijale properties limited, both we as counsels and our clients attended court, and made overtures to her counsel on the need to meet and resolve the matter amicably between the parties which they refused but before the matter was determined by the court, their counsel who was the only one coming to court proceeding but he refused to attend until the matter was struck out with cost of Ten Thousands Naira (10,000.00) awarded against Mrs Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola for each of the cases.

7.From the way Madam Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola continued to be elusive and shying away from every opportunity to handle the matter before legitimate authority, from agency of Lagos State to Police, form Police to Court and even a proposal to sit one on one, we knew something was fishy.

8.That recently, we received notice to quite from ijale properties limited claiming to be the owner of the property and issuing our clients Notice to quite, later a Notice of Owners intention to apply to recover possession was also served on our clients, just as we were waiting for recovery of possession was also served on our clients, just as we were waiting for recovery of possession proceeding to be filed,at about 7.30pm on Thursday 1st of August 2016 some Policemen from Area ‘H’ Ogudu came and arrested Alhaji Adebayo Abdulahi and took him down to their office where he was given the option of parking from the property or being charged to court, he told them that he needed to see his lawyer before answering their question, he was then dumped n the cell, by 5.30am the next morning, thugs hired by Madam Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola broke into tour clients property before stealing our clients cash, documents, personal possession and household property valued about ONE HUNDRED MILLION NAIRA(N1000,000,000.00) before demolition it, while the looting was going on, The police at Area ‘H’ command were taking Alhaji Adebayo to court after spending a night with them.

9. That more worrisome is the fact that this action was carried out just a few days after the passage of The Property Protection law of Lagos State and it is believed that Mrs. Rashidah carried the heinous act to test the resolve of Lagos State Government.

9.Let us mention that Alhaji Adebayo also did not meet any complainant nor was he interviewed by any Senior officer at Area ‘H’ command, there was also no option for the parties to settle as was usually the practice of the police, their mind was made up and our client was sent to court and ikoyi prison based on the one sided story of Madam Rashidat Adedoyin Adekola whom our client still did not meet till date.

10. The matter have been called at Magistrate Court 3, Yaba more than four (4) times without the attendance of Madam Rashidah Adedoyin Adekola showing that she fabricated the story leading to the arrest just to remove our client from the scene for her to carry out her heinous, illegal and reprehensible act of taken over a residential property by force of arm and use of recidivist.

10.That we seriously suspect that the Area Commander of Area H command had a force knowledge ofw above stated crime that why he took away Alhaji Adebayo.

11.That all our clients are now homeless because of the illegal eviction and have lost their livelong saving and property to theft and the rest destroyed by rain because of the action of Madam Rashidah Adedoyin Adekola and her touts.
We have the instruction of our client to request and we hereby that your officer take over the investigation of this high level criminality, unlawful eviction and taken over of property by force, burglary, stealing, looting.

Permit us to add that while this incident was happening our client made several call and reported the incident at near by police station who refused to answer to call but only came after a call was made to Rapid Response Squad(RRS) but when they arrive they only joked with the thugs and went away.

We have faith that we will get just from your office at seeing that this illegality is redressed.
Yours Faithfully

Lol..the 100m claim is quite bogus. However, I think the lady in question should have gone through appropriate channels within the confines of the law to take possession.
